4. Advertising & Cookies

The GreyLens is a free publication supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. As a third-party ad network, Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve contextually relevant advertisements. Google's use of these technologies is governed by its own Privacy Policy.

You may manage your advertising preferences at any time by visiting Google Ad Settings or aboutads.info. Cookie preferences can also be adjusted through your browser settings.

We operate our advertising in compliance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023.

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase infrastructure in compliance with industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections and strict access controls. We retain your data only as long as needed to provide our services.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share anonymised, aggregated analytics that cannot identify you personally.

7. Push Notifications

We offer optional browser push notifications for new article alerts. A notification prompt appears on your first visit via a bell icon in the navigation bar. We only send notifications after you explicitly click Allow in your browser's permission dialog. Your browser token is stored securely and used solely to deliver content alerts. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the 🔒 padlock in your browser's address bar → Notifications → Block, or via your device/browser notification settings.

9. Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting privacy@thegreylens.com. We will process your request within 30 days.

10. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services including Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Google Firebase, and Cloudinary to operate and improve our platform. Each service operates under its own privacy policy.

11. Children's Privacy

The GreyLens is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us immediately.
