A remarkable father-and-son duo from Norfolk, George and Josh Kohler, have completed an extraordinary 400-day cycling adventure that spanned 30 countries and resulted in the shattering of three Guinness World Records. The pair returned to their home in Halvergate, near Great Yarmouth, to a rapturous reception after their odyssey, which aimed to raise funds for UNICEF. Their journey has been described as "life-changing" and has "really restored our faith in humanity".
A World of Records
George, 57, and Josh, 23, embarked on their ambitious trip on March 29th of last year, cycling over 18,000 miles across continents including Europe, Asia, South America, and Oceania. Their dedication and endurance have earned them the titles of the fastest father and son to circumnavigate the world on bicycles, the duo to cycle through the most countries, and to have travelled the furthest distance by a father and son on bicycles. Josh documented their journey extensively on his YouTube channel, sharing their experiences with a global audience.
Restoring Faith in Humanity
The Kohlers' adventure was not just about setting records; it was a mission to support UNICEF and to inspire others to pursue their own dreams. They raised nearly £70,000 for the charity, highlighting the generosity and kindness of people they encountered along the way. "The world is a good place and people are friendly 90pc of the time. Everyone we met welcomed us with open arms," Josh shared, reflecting on their experiences. He added, "It is just heart-warming and to be able to help children around the world that have far bigger challenges than we do, I am so glad that we have been able to make that difference".

We are just a father and son that went on a bike ride at the end of the day. Just do it. The hardest part is that commitment and start to go and do something," he advised.
